When it comes to choosing baby
names, many couples find it hard it agree on a name they both
love. There are thousands of names to choose from, whether you prefer
traditional names or more modern baby names. Some inventive couples
even make up their names or draw from nature for inspiration (think
River Phoenix.)
Many baby names are often inspired by current trends set by celebrities
- the number of Kylies Christened during the late eighties and early
nineties when Kylie shot to fame in Neighbours and then as a pop
star was phenomenal just as the number of Brooklyns and Romeos named
since David and Victoria Beckham chose these names for their sons
has also had a definite effect on current name trends!
If you can't decide on names then it's a good idea to invest in
a book of baby names for inspiration. You'll find an amazing number
of names from past and present, generally split into sections such
as 'religious names' or 'kings and queen's names', for easy reference.
It's also advisable to say the name out loud, as often a name on
its own on paper will look fine but once you say it out loud with
your surname it may take on a different sound. For example you may
love the name Teresa but if your surname is Green you might want
to rethink!
