Christening Invitations |

Christening
invitations are essential if you want to invite friends and family
to your baby's Christening. A Christening is often the next big family
event after a wedding and so, just as like a wedding, it's traditional
for your Christening invitations to be fairly formal. Of course, if
you'd prefer to send informal
or fun invitations to your guests then that's up to you.
A party thrown to celebrate the occasion will probably have one
of the widest age ranges - from the baby to grandparents and perhaps
even great-grandparents. Christenings and naming ceremonies tend
to be regarded as the time when a child is officially named, the
only difference being that one is a religious ceremony, the other
non-religious.
Christening invitations need to go out at least a month beforehand
to ensure that people are free.
It's a good idea to enclose a map/
information pack to help your guests find their way. Family will
often travel long distances to attend a Christening, so it's worth
including details of local B&B's and hotels for those who may
want to stay overnight.
Many people word their Christening invitations to include an address
for people to reply to, but a good way of getting responses quickly
is to include a card that can be completed and posted back to you.
If you've got the spare cash, you could also include a stamped,
self-addressed envelope - and then they've got no excuse!
