6 month old with chronic abdominal pain

This message was posted by Cara Bill on 16/12/2009 21:
From birth my baby boy has been screaming in agony intermitenly night and day. I've tried everything and I mean everything, all colic remedies, cranial oeseopathy, baby massage, hypoallergenic formula, solids, i've done it all. He screams out randomly and it hurts him to pass wind and he is very uncomfortable when pooing. He seems to have an attack every hour or so, at night he so badly wants to sleep but flaps around (like having a bad nightmare) constantly and wakes and cries every two hours or so. He usually needs a drink to be able to pass wind, sometimes settles, but usually starts flapping even more. He jolts his body and so many hours of screaming. He's never sick though and not lathargic, in fact he's a bit hyper. He's on solids and has a poo between 3 and 5 times a day. I'm already seeing a paediatrician but I think she's about to tell me just to 'suck it up'. They've checked his urinary tract but that's it. Is this just colic or could it be something else??? He's 6 months old and no sign of it getting better at all. Somebody please help me!!!
