Firstly, I wanted to say I can only imagine how hard the past 6 months have been.. so big ((hug)) The only things Im suggesting are what worked with my son when he had colic, or things that come to mind that you dont mention above (but may have already tried) so apologies if anything is already been tried and tested, or seems really obvious :o) Firstly, I remember quite clearly that I had to (in teh early days) rub my sons back for near on 45 mins- 1 hour sometimes before I got his wind up (especially at night). If I didnt, and that was alongside Infacol, I had a very unhappy baby for at least 24 hours after. (Ive friends who swear by gripe water but I never got that far) Secondly, Do you feed your son upright? I found this helped tremendously, and I always avoid feeding him in my arms like a baby. (I recently forgot this when he started to want to do his bottle himself and I found he could do it lying on his back better.... wasnt a good idea as the colic came back!) The next thing I would mention is the milk and what you are feeding him... some mums find an easy digest brand works better. My nephew turned out to be lactose intolerant for a short while and needed prescription milk... this may be what is bothering your son? Also, have you looked into the bottles you are using? Dr Browns are apparently very good for dealing with colic issues. All that said, and tried, I think if this was my son I would be starting to wonder if he had issues with his tummy, and after 6 months I would start to get really pushy with the doctors to get it looked into. What does your doctor say? Have you had a second opinion? What do you think may be the problem. I know it may sound silly, but Mums are often very perceptive about their own babies, so trust your own instincts. Lastly, I just wanted to wish you all the best in getting to the bottom of this / getting a solution. There will be one, just keep the faith Micheymoo Edward (6mths) xxx Back |
