    This sounds familiar.

I came off the pill in Feb last year after 13 years on it. Since then my cycles have constantly varied between 29 days and up to 42 days. (This uncertainty mean we did a lot of tests as we weren't sure if I was pregant or just irregular.)

At first our plan was to wait 6 months before trying properly but every month I would get so frustrated by my body so I started to keep a diary with all sorts of info in it like marking the days I did have a bleed and also the days I felt odd or had any aches/pains/discharge of any sort. Recognising what my body did helped me to gauge when my cycles might be calming down and ultimately it helped us see when I was due and when I was ovulating.

I did many tests while I was trying to understand my body. Most were just plain negative. But on one month, I was feeling queasy, needed the loo more the test and several in the days after all came back negative and yet I was still feeling pregnant. I couldn't put my finger on it at the time until I miscarried (heavy bleed with big jelly clots). I'd had a chemical pregnancy... I'd had enough hormones to feel rough but not to show on the sticks. This was confirmed by a doctor.

However, there is an upside to this message. 4 weeks ago I had a positive test and am 11 weeks tomorrow with my first scan next week.

Keep a diary of your body and see how you get on. x
